National Association for Catering & Events Ashville, NC

Asheville Chapter of NACE held their first Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation sponsored event at the AC Hotel in downtown Asheville. The renowned wedding and events speaker Alan Berg, CSP spoke on Breaking the Ghosting Code and Selling to the Modern Couple. The presentation covered: four common reasons why prospects are ghosting you, and actionable strategies to address them, proven tactics for smoothly transitioning prospects from messages to calls/meetings/tours, expert advice on when and how often to follow-up to keep prospects engaged without overwhelming them and when to recognize it's time to gracefully move on from a ghosting prospect.


Vegas Wedding Chamber (VWC)

The Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation provided a generous hospitality association grant to the Vegas Wedding Chamber for educational programs. The Vegas Wedding Chamber hosted an event that focused on resources available to wedding industry members such as free business coaching, mentors, and the benefits of certifying as a woman, minority, veteran, or LGBTQ+ business. The event speakers included Heather Cox, President of Certify My Company, is a dedicated advocate for diversity in business, Karma Hunter of Score.org, an experienced marketing strategist and digital marketing expert with over 23 years in fields ranging from tech to hospitality, Walter Carey, US Bank Business Coach: With a business consulting background and 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force.

SOUTHERN NEVADA HOTEL CONCIERGE ASSOCIATION (SNHCA) 

The Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation sponsored a special educational seminar for the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association at The International School of Hospitality (TISOH). The seminar was given by the world-renowned hotel & concierge specialist, luxury service teacher restaurant guru, and travel enthusiast Michael Romei. Michael is the creator and founder of the "Creating Service Magic" hospitality training program. He also spent 23 years as Chef Concierge at the famous Waldorf Astoria and Towers NYC. He is the Former General Secretary for Les Clefs d’Or International and author.

Nevada Hotel Lodging Association (NHLA)

The Timothy S.Y. Lam Foundation provided a generous grant to the Nevada Hotel Lodging Association for educational and professional certification programs. NHLA recently hosted a seminar entitled “Creating a Culture of Service Excellence (the ten ingredients behind a great culture that supports service excellence) in Carson City, NV for the Carson City Chamber of Commerce. The guest speaker for the event was Donald Bowman, a highly recognized and awarded leader in the global hospitality and business industry. As the founder of Donald Bowman Consulting, he has provided direction and expert advice to leading companies worldwide. Donald’s professional focus includes achieving lasting change, improved accountability, colleague empowerment, unique service delivery moments, morale improvement, team building, and timeline-based phases.
